Hola! My name is Dia Mixon. I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. I attended Bishop Hartley High School ('02) and then my adventures began! I went to Bowling Green State University ('06). I spent part of my final year studying in Alcalá de Henares, Spain. I knew that would not be my last time there! I completed my degree in Spanish Education and moved to Chicago, Illinois where I completed my Master of Education program in Bilingual-Bicultural Education at DePaul University ('08). From there, I returned home to Columbus to teach K-8 Spanish at St. Pius X and St. Catharine of Siena Schools for two years. The following four years were full of travels and exciting teaching opportunities in North Carolina and Washington, D.C. I even returned to Spain to teach English for two of those years! I was happy to come back to St. Pius X and I look forward to spending time here and at Holy Spirit School, teaching the beautiful language of Spanish and all of the interesting and enriching cultural lessons that come with it!
