St. Pius X School is proud to offer a variety of extracurricular activities that help our students grow as well-rounded students.
St. Pius X School students have the opportunity to participate in a band and orchestra program through Columbus Music Academy. Lessons take place at school following dismissal once a week. The students join with their counterparts from Saint Matthew School for three concerts annually. There is an additional fee paid directly to Columbus Music Academy for this activity.
St. Pius X School has two choirs that perform under the direction of our general music teacher. The Gold Choir consists of students in Grades 3-5. The Blue Choir is students in Grades 6-8. The students perform at a variety of school activities and concerts over the course of the school year. Practices are held during the school day.
Math Counts is open to students in Grades 7 and 8 who wish to deepen their math skills in a fun and creative way. Students practice after school and have the opportunity to earn a spot in the regional competition in mid to late winter.
St. Pius X School is proud to present an annual spring musical. Students in Grades 6, 7, and 8 make up the cast and crew of this annual production. Students rehearse following school beginning in mid- to late-January with the production taking place in April.
Power of the Pen
Power of the Pen is a writing extracurricular activity for seventh- and eighth-grade students. This activity focuses on creative writing and works to instill a lifelong love of writing. Students throughout Ohio come together in a friendly competition during the spring.
Student council representatives are elected from each fifth- through eighth-grade homeroom. Students meet over the course of the school year to plan and support a variety of schoolwide activities.
Eighth-grade students work to create the eighth-grade yearbook. Students create and edit the yearbook to look back on their eighth-grade year and career at St. Pius X School. This yearbook is in addition to the whole school yearbook that students may purchase toward the end of the school year.
