PGC
All volunteers must register for a Protecting God’s Children (PGC) class. The PGC class will only need completed once, there is not a renewal/expiration on the class. When you register for PGC for the first time, you will be required to enroll in selection.com which has a fee of $25.00.
Background Check & Fingerprints
Volunteers are required to complete BCI fingerprinting every five years. If your BCI fingerprinting is more than five years old, you must obtain updated fingerprinting before you are considered compliant and eligible to volunteer. We highly recommend using Buckeye BCI Mobile Fingerprinting or FastFingerprints. Both companies are familiar with diocesan requirements and promptly communicate results to the Safe Environment Office, helping to ensure your compliance is processed as quickly as possible.
Service Hours
Our school community thrives through partnership, and parent involvement is an important part of that mission. Each family is asked to complete two parent service hours during the school year to support school events, parish activities, and volunteer needs.
These service hours help strengthen our community, model stewardship for our students, and ensure the success of programs and events that enrich our school. Opportunities are available throughout the year and vary in time commitment and interest.

As part of our commitment to forming students in faith, compassion, and responsibility, each student in 6th-8th grade is required to complete 5 service hours during the school year. These hours provide opportunities for students to live out our Catholic values by serving others, supporting parish and community needs, and growing in awareness of the call to serve.
Service opportunities may include parish events, school-sponsored activities, or approved community service projects. All hours must be completed and submitted according to school guidelines.
Through service, students put faith into action and learn the importance of generosity, stewardship, and caring for others.

All parent and student volunteer hours should be entered by the parent/guardian through the FACTS Family Portal. Please enter your hours promptly after completing your service so that our records remain accurate and up to date.
Step 1: Log In
Log in to the FACTS Family Portal using your FACTS username and password.
Step 2: Click on Family (Home)
Step 3: Above “Service Hours,” click the family member who completed the service.
Step 4: Click Add or the + button to enter a new volunteer activity.
Step 5: Complete the requested fields:
Date: Enter the date the volunteer work was completed.
Hours: Enter the actual number of hours volunteered.
Description: Briefly describe the volunteer activity.

Classroom Volunteer – Mrs. Smith’s Class
Fall Festival – Set-Up
Lunch/Recess Volunteer
Book Fair Volunteer
Athletic Event – Concessions
Field Trip Chaperone
School Event – Clean-Up
Step 5: Save
Review your information to make sure it is accurate, then click Save.
A Few Reminders
Please record only the time you actually volunteered.
Enter hours as soon as possible after completing your service.
Please enter each volunteer activity separately when possible so that hours can be easily verified.
Volunteer hours should be entered under the parent/guardian who performed the service.
If you are unsure whether an activity qualifies for volunteer hours, please contact the school office before entering the hours.
Parents are responsible for ensuring that their volunteer hours are entered accurately and by the required deadline.
The school may review and verify submitted hours.
